Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is excited to announce the launch of its highly popular Truck of the Year competition for the 28th consecutive year, now open for entries from Isuzu truck owners across the country.

Isuzu’s Truck of the Year is widely considered one of Australia’s longest-running and most respected truck appreciation competitions, with hundreds of Isuzu trucks entered each year from a diverse range of trades and industries.

Initially featured in Isuzu’s Truckpower magazine and gathered from Isuzu Trucks dealerships, the competition has evolved from its print origins to a predominantly online format. It now features a monthly blog shared across Isuzu Australia’s social media channels and Content Hub.

IAL Marketing and Advertising Manager Sam Gangemi expressed his excitement about welcoming Isuzu truck owners to another exciting year of the competition.

“Life on the road is never boring, and neither are the trucks and entrants that take part in the competition,” said Mr Gangemi.

“This competition perfectly showcases the Australian spirit of creativity and drive to build the ideal rig, whether it's for the trade, waste management, freight transport, or a multitude of other industries.”

“Each year, we are amazed by the high quality of the trucks and the incredible loyalty of our customers who trust Isuzu for their transport solutions,” he continued.

“We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!”

In It to Win It

The Truck of the Year competition officially opens on March 3, 2025, and will close on December 1, 2025. Entrants can find all the details, including how to enter and a full list of terms and conditions, at isuzu.com.au/news/truck-of-the-year.

A range of exciting prizes are up for grabs, from monthly Isuzu Trucks merchandise packs and generous cash rewards, to PR opportunities with Isuzu Trucks that could significantly boost business visibility.

For those fortunate enough to be selected as monthly winners, Isuzu will send out a swag bag, including an Isuzu Trucks merchandise pack valued at $300 RRP.

For the ‘Series’ Prize winners (one from each of Isuzu’s N, F, FX/FY truck series), a cash prize of $1,500 will be awarded, with one of these three winners advancing to claim the coveted title of Isuzu’s Truck of the Year and the grand prize of $6,000.

Loyalty Rewarded

Recent Grand Prize winners in the competition show that the trucks worthy of recognition come in all shapes, sizes, and configurations, and can be used across any industry or location.

In 2024, Sydney Side Plumbing took home the top prize with their NLR 45-150, a highly custom-built truck designed to carry plumbing and leak detection equipment.

The business praises the truck’s manoeuvrability around Sydney’s streets and its ability to carry essential equipment for the job.

“We’ve created a custom NLR 45-150 that's equipped with everything needed for our leak detection and plumbing business in Sydney,” said Sydney Side Plumbing Director Mohammad Mourad.

“My Isuzu truck includes a high-pressure water jet, PVC pipe holders on top, emergency lights, and an LED board to display messages while we're on the job.”

VTG Waste & Recycling claimed first place in 2023 with their FYJ 300-350 waste compactor.

VTG Waste & Recycling secured the top spot in 2023 with their FYJ 300-350 8x4 waste compactor, used in recycling and commercial waste disposal across Darwin in the Northern Territory.

“Isuzu trucks are known for their reliability, versatility, and their ability to thrive in the challenging conditions of the Top End,” said James Prakash, Managing Director of VTG Waste & Recycling.

In 2022, family-owned Craneworx in South Australia won the Grand Prize with their FYJ 300-350 crane truck, featuring an eight-metre tray and a 2.5-tonne Hyva loader crane.

Isuzu has an outstanding reputation in the trucking industry. The reliability of their trucks is a major reason why we chose them to support Craneworx,” said Daniel Lockwood, Operations Manager of Craneworx.
