Cube Removals Has Over a Million Reasons to Trust Isuzu
It’s often said that if a vehicle can survive Australia’s harsh conditions, it’s built to handle anything. That’s certainly true for Cube Removals’ 2014 Isuzu FRR 600.
As of this year, the truck has clocked up nearly 1.4 million kilometres—averaging around 127,000 km each year. That’s equivalent to 35 full circumnavigations of the globe or one and a half trips to the moon.
This impressive milestone reflects Cube Removals' extensive operations, with driver Clinton Simpson covering vast distances from the Victorian coastline to Far North Queensland, providing specialist interstate removal services.
The long wheelbase FRR 600 (now Isuzu’s FRR 110-260) features an 11,000 kg GVM and a 16,000 kg GCM, allowing it to carry heavy loads and tow a three-tonne trailer. Both the truck and trailer are fitted with carpeted floors, while the FRR’s durable body includes side and rear entry doors for easy access.
Genuine Support and Unmatched Reliability
The Isuzu truck has been part of Cube Removals for 10 years, with Clinton behind the wheel for the past seven. After taking ownership of the business in 2022, Clinton remained committed to ensuring on-time delivery and high standards of freight protection while covering enormous distances across the country.
Despite this extraordinary milestone, Clinton never considered replacing the truck. He attributes the vehicle's continued performance to the reliability of Isuzu’s F Series and a regular servicing schedule at Wagga Motors using only genuine Isuzu parts.
“The places I visit sound like the old ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ song by Geoff Mack—freeways to goat tracks are what this truck travels regularly,” Clinton remarked. “Blazing hot summers and flooding rains really do a lot of damage to outback roads, so that causes more wear and tear on the vehicle. I am not mechanically minded, but I understand what is important to keep the truck on the road —and that is regular servicing from the team at Wagga Motors and using genuine Isuzu parts. I know that the parts that have been used in the truck are the same, if not better, than when it was built.”
Built for Australia’s Tough Conditions
Isuzu’s genuine parts are rigorously tested for the tough Australian environment, which is essential for businesses like Cube Removals that operate in such harsh climates. Isuzu stocks over 35,000 genuine parts and accessories across more than 70 dealerships and service outlets nationwide. Clinton knows that with this level of support, his truck is in good hands.
Regular servicing is key to the truck’s continued performance. Recently, the FRR underwent a suspension and gearbox overhaul, a decision Clinton was quick to make.
“I know too many operators who think they can push their vehicles and end up broken down in the middle of nowhere, or those who don’t use quality parts and get stuck short term or do long-term damage—sometimes to very expensive trucks,” Clinton said. “When things need to be addressed, I get it done. It’s a comfort that Isuzu has such a massive footprint of dealerships; I know that if I have a major issue, I can call in and get it addressed.”
Proactive Maintenance
Wagga Motors goes the extra mile in planning Clinton’s maintenance schedule, even replacing hoses and fittings preemptively to account for the wear caused by Australia’s harsh conditions. "This was due to the Australian environment’s effect on the rubber. We scheduled this at a previous service so that we could have everything ready this time around,” said John Beattie, Isuzu Brand Manager at Wagga Motors.
“We go over diagnostics and consider where the truck travels when planning for parts replacement. Despite having over 23,000 engine hours, we’ve never had to open the motor for anything other than valve adjustments,” John added.
A True Partnership
Clinton’s relationship with Wagga Motors has become more than just a customer-supplier one; it's a long-term partnership. “I have to say Clinton is not simply a customer; he’s part of the Wagga Motors family,” John said. “He doesn’t simply drop the truck off; he speaks with the technicians and deeply appreciates the work our team does. We not only look at what the truck needs now but forecast what is best for the vehicle regarding future services so that it maintains its incredible performance, despite all the kilometres it has travelled.”
In gratitude for their ongoing support, Clinton gave Wagga Motors a scale model of his FRR truck, which now proudly sits on display at the dealership.
“I know people say I’m unique, so I wanted the team at Wagga Motors to have something unique as well,” Clinton said. “I’m chuffed that they have it out on display, and hey, that can’t be bad for my business either! The busier I am, the better it is for all concerned.”
