Marley’s Transport Leads the Way in Agricultural Transportation with First Electric Truck

On January 13, 2025, Marley’s Transport, a leading provider of transportation solutions for the agricultural industry, announced the addition of their first electric truck, a Volvo FM, marking a significant step towards sustainability.

Electric Truck for Agricultural Transportation
The Volvo EV, delivered by Truck Centre WA, will be integrated into Marley’s fleet to transport produce and deliver supplies across the agricultural sector. This move aligns with the company’s sustainability goals and commitment to adopting innovative technologies that benefit both the environment and the agricultural community.

Frank Marley, Owner of Marley’s Transport, shared his thoughts: “My dad always said, ‘If you don’t stay at the front, you’ll get left behind.’ This truck reflects our commitment to sustainability and leading from the front with alternative fuels.”

Marley’s Transport plans to continue expanding its fleet with more eco-friendly practices and sustainable transport solutions.

Tom Chapman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Volvo Trucks Australia, added, “Marley’s has a long history of innovation and efficiency. Their focus on sustainable transport and emerging technologies will serve them well in the future.”

To date, 80 Battery Electric Volvo Trucks have been delivered in Australia, with Volvo’s target being 50% of its global volume as either battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks by 2030. Production of Volvo’s battery electric trucks will begin in Wacol, Australia by 2027.
